The Work We Take On
We fix and replace garage doors and the hardware that runs them: torsion and extension springs, openers, tracks, rollers, cables, and panels. A lot of what we see traces back to the age of the house. Homes in this area were mostly built between 1938 and 2000, with a heavy concentration in the 1980s and 90s, so we spend a good amount of time on doors and openers from that era - chain-drive units that have finally worn out, torsion springs rated for a cycle count that's long since passed, and tracks that have gone out of plumb after twenty or thirty years of summer heat expanding the metal.
That heat matters here. Redding sits in a severe-heat climate band, and garage doors take a beating from it - openers overheating, weatherstripping drying out and cracking, steel panels warping if they're thin-gauge. We don't do landscaping, fencing, or general handyman work. If it's not the door, the opener, or the hardware that moves it, it's not something we take on.
One honest limit: if a door is old enough and far enough gone that the springs, rollers, and opener all need replacing at once, we'll tell you straight that a full door replacement is usually the better money than patching it piece by piece.
Getting Hold of Us
Call (530) 239-0896. That's the fastest way to get a real answer about scheduling and what a repair is likely to involve before anyone shows up. We'd rather talk through what's wrong with your door over the phone than guess at it.
After you call, we'll ask what the door is doing - won't open, won't close, making noise, opener running but door not moving - and get a sense of whether it's a spring, a cable, the opener itself, or something in the track. That helps us bring the right parts on the first trip instead of a second one.
We're located at 1300 West St, Redding, CA 96001, and you're welcome to stop by during business hours if you'd rather talk in person or drop off a part for us to look at.

Who You Are Dealing With
Redding Garage Door Pros is a garage door repair company working out of a single shop on West St in Redding
We're not a franchise call center routing you to a sub-contractor three counties away - when you call the number above, you're talking to the people who service the service area described here.
The households we work for are mostly owner-occupied houses, not rentals, and most of the garage doors we open up were installed decades ago by whoever built the house
Not upgraded since. That's the job, day to day: older hardware on original installs, in a climate that's hard on rubber seals and steel panels alike.
We don't claim years in business or a staff count here because that's not what tells you whether we'll fix your door right
The work does that. Call, tell us what the door is doing, and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a quick fix, a bigger repair, or a door that's past the point of repair being worth it.

Frequently asked
Straight answers about garage door repair in Redding. Still unsure? Ask us directly.
Do you work on older torsion springs or just newer doors?
Most of what we work on is torsion spring hardware from the 1980s and 90s building wave, which covers the bulk of the housing stock here. We also see older extension-spring setups on houses built before that. Either way, we carry parts for both and will tell you up front if a specific older part needs to be ordered rather than pulled off the truck.
Why do springs seem to fail so often here?
Redding runs a severe heat band through the summer, and sustained heat dries out the lubricant inside a torsion spring and makes rubber and nylon parts brittle faster than they'd wear in a milder climate. That's why we replace more springs and rollers here than cables or openers.
How far out do you go for a service call?
We cover the area from out through and the rest of the named neighborhoods, and farther out to places like Centerville, Shasta, Palo Cedro, and Anderson. If you're not sure whether you're in range, just call and tell us where you are.
Is it ever not worth repairing the door?
Yes. A door that's already had multiple repairs and is now forty-plus years old, or one with a cracked panel on an older model that can't be matched, usually makes more sense to replace than to keep patching. We'll say so plainly if that's what we find, rather than billing you for another repair on a door on its way out.
