The Work We Take On
Most of the doors we get called out on sit in houses built between 1938 and 2000
With the bulk of that stock going up through the 1980s and 90s. That matters because a door from a 1982 build and a door from a 2019 build are not the same job - different spring sizing, different track mounts, different opener wiring half the time. We work on torsion and extension springs, openers, rollers, cables, and panel sections, and we replace full door and track assemblies when a repair doesn't make sense anymore.
Redding's summer heat is severe enough that it's the single biggest thing we see wear out hardware early
Nylon rollers dry-rot and crack, steel tracks expand and bind, and openers with aging capacitors start skipping or stalling in the hottest months. If your door has gotten noisy or sticky only since the heat set in, that's usually not a coincidence - it's the metal and plastic responding to the temperature swing, and it's a common enough pattern here that we check for it first.
One limitation worth saying plainly
We don't carry every obsolete part for doors from the 1930s through 1950s on the shelf. Some original hardware on the oldest houses in the area is special-order, and if a part has to come in, we'll tell you the wait up front rather than promise same-day on something we don't have.
Getting Hold of Us
Call (530) 239-0896. We're based at 1300 West St, Redding, CA 96001, which keeps us close to most of the neighborhoods we serve rather than running trucks across the county for every call.
When you call, tell us the age of the house if you know it and what the door is doing - won't open, won't close, grinding, off-track, remote not responding. That's usually enough for us to guess at the likely cause before we're even on site, especially since so many houses in this area were built in the same few decades and tend to fail the same handful of ways.
We don't run a 24-hour dispatch line, so if you're calling well outside normal hours, expect a callback rather than an instant answer. For anything that isn't a door stuck wide open with a car trapped inside, that's rarely an issue.
Where We Work
We're set up to work close-in first.
From there we cover all within about 4-5 miles, and then out to Centerville, Shasta, Palo Cedro, Shasta Lake, Happy Valley, and Bella Vista at roughly 6-8 miles. We also take calls out to Anderson (9 miles), Millville (10 miles), Igo (11 miles), Cottonwood (13 miles), and the farther reach of Lake California and French Gulch (17 miles each) - those trips just take longer to schedule since they're further off our usual run.
If you're not sure whether your address falls inside our normal range, call and ask. It's a quick answer either way.
Who You Are Dealing With
We're a garage door repair company based in Redding, working on the kind of doors that match the housing stock here
A lot of it from the 1980s and 90s, with plenty of older houses mixed in going back to 1938. We don't have a decades-long company history to point to, and we're not going to invent one. What we can tell you is what we work on and how we price a job once we've seen it.
Median household income across the service area sits around $95,978
And we try to give a straight repair-or-replace answer rather than defaulting to a full door swap when a spring or roller job will hold. Not every sticking door needs a new opener, and we'll say so.
If you want to talk through what's wrong with your door before committing to a truck roll
Call (530) 239-0896. We'd rather spend five minutes on the phone narrowing it down than send someone out for a job that turns out to be a ten-dollar part.
